It’s been at least 9 months since I have blogged, so I am sure my readers have been wandering where in the world have I been? I have a very valid reason for my absence. Lots has changed in my life, the name of this blog has changed, and there is even something new and very exciting in my life. I plan to address all of this. I think the first thing I need to address here is where have I been? What’s been going on in my life? Pull up a chair! I have lots to share!
Where in the World Have I Been? What’s been going on my life?
As stated in the beginning, it has been about 9 months since I have even written single word on this blog. I know it’s been a long time! But, I needed to take some time and work on myself. As I have stated in a past post called My Life Lately, I struggle with anxiety. My anxiety was in remission and I was successfully discharged from counseling, but then December 2016, a trigger caused my anxiety to flare up and I had to restart counseling. I am not going to go into details regarding what triggered my anxiety because I just don’t want to open “Pandora’s Box, so to speak. I have been working on better managing my anxiety, coping skills, and self-esteem through counseling and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy).
It hasn’t been easy, but I am getting there. There have been several times over the past few months when I thought I was ready to jump back on the wagon to start blogging again, but then something or some kind of trigger would cause my anxiety to flare up again. But, the good news is I am finally feeling ready to start blogging again. I am going to start slow because with my anxiety, I tend to get overwhelmed easy.
The Big Name Change
As my readers know, the name of this blog used to be The Kitchen Revival, but now its called Wholly Revived. I’m sure you are wandering why I changed the name of the blog? Simply because this blog has and continues to evolve. When I first started The Kitchen Revival, I only shared Gluten Free + Dairy Free recipes, but since my official Generalized Anxiety Disorder diagnosis in 2016, I started sharing more than just recipes, I started sharing more natural health (specifically and mostly anxiety related), and faith. I chose the name Wholly Revived because that name best suits the purpose and goal of this blog which is to teach my readers how to experience and live a life of wholeness through being a good steward of food, faith, and well-being.
Something new and exciting in my life
I have been trying to figure out the best way to share this with my readers, because I am very excited about this. So, I guess I will start by saying that I have always been passionate about natural health and wellness. I have always enjoyed researching it, living it, and sharing it with others. Because of this passion, I have always wanted to somehow, someway work or be a part of the natural health field. But, I just didn’t know what that would be. In February 2017, I decided to enroll in a Natural Health Consultant course through Stratford Career Institute. I just wanted the opportunity to get my feet wet a little before I decided to invest in something bigger. I successfully completed the Natural Health Consultant course in July 2017, and in August 2017 I made the decision to enroll in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Training Program. I will be starting school on September 18th, 2017. So you are looking at and talking to a future health coach in the making! And yes, I will be offering my health coach services here on the blog in the future.
The Future of This Blog – What Can You Expect?
All I ask is that you please be patient! Since I suffer from anxiety, I tend to get overwhelmed easily, so my goal here is to start out slow. I am currently deciding how many posts per week I will be sharing. I will need to experiment with a few ideas to see what works best for me. Some things will remain the same on the blog, but there will also be some new and exciting things I will be introducing along the way. I promise you that I will be sharing a recipe with you next week. I look forward to blogging again, and I am also looking forward to my new and exciting journey as a future health coach.
