My husband has an obsession with donuts. Whenever we go to a fair, festival, or amusement park, he always grabs an order of mini donuts. Of course I like donuts too and I have always wanted to learn how to make homemade Gluten Free Donuts. My dream finally came true when my husband got me a donut pan for my 35th birthday in July.
But, I decided to wait until Fall to make my first batch of donuts because I usually don’t like to use my oven in the Summer months when it’s hot outside. I was so glad that I was finally able to use my donut pan this past weekend.
Of course, this was my first attempt at making donuts. I had no idea what I was doing or even if my recipe would turn out. The good news is my donuts turned out better than I expected and they tasted pretty great too!.
Making these donuts also gave me a chance to experiment with some spice samples from Raw Spice Bar. I was able to use their version of Pumpkin Pie spice in my donuts.
I love using all sorts of spices in my cooking and baking. All of the spices from the Raw Spice Bar are freshly ground, small batches that are shipped quarterly directly to your door. Their spices not only smell fresh and aromatic but, they also have a rich pleasing flavor on your palate. And the best thing is you don’t need to use a lot of whatever spice you are using in your cooking because a little bit goes a long way.
