Last year I chose the word All In for my one word for 2015. For the past couple of days I have been praying and reflecting on what my one word will be for 2016. As I was praying and reflecting, I started thinking about how difficult the last 6 months have been for me spiritually, physically, emotionally, pretty much all aspects of my life. That is where my one word stems from for 2016. Plus God also gave me 2 Bible verses to also reflect on in the New Year.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41:13)
Why choose the word HEALING?
Now onto a further explanation of why I have chosen the word healing as my one word for 2016.
The past 6 months of my life has been a roller coaster (spiritually, physically, emotionally) because a family member wounded my heart deeply. This is not the first time this person has done this to me. This hurt has caused me a lot of pain and this has caused health problems, emotional stress, and also affected my faith a little bit.
At this time I am choosing to not go into a lot of detail about this hurt because I don’t want to cause hurt/pain back to the person who has hurt me, plus this is also a private family issue. I am so thankful to have a loving, man of God husband who has been there for me.
but I am choosing to not dwell on this hurt in the New Year. I am choosing to grow from it, heal, and move on. 2015 is going to be a year of healing for me in all areas of my life. SO LET THE HEALING BEGIN!
If you have been wounded by someone in the past or recently, just know that God is right beside you ready to heal your broken heart. I know that it can be very easy to become bitter or angry about the situation or the person who hurt you, but in the end anger and bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die! NOT GOOD! Don’t let your wounded heart cause bitterness, instead choose to cling to God so He can heal your wounds.
Some Exciting Things Coming to The Kitchen Revival in 2016
I also wanted to thank my loyal fans and readers of The Kitchen Revival. May your New Year be full of wonderful blessings.
I am a big believer in goals, and every year I write down a detailed list of all the goals I want to accomplish for the blog and how I will accomplish those goals. I am still working on some of those goals, but there are lots of great things coming to The Kitchen Revival in 2016:
More variety when it comes to posts – I recently decided that I wanted The Kitchen Revival to be more than just a Gluten Free recipe blog. Since natural health and faith are important to me, I will be including more of those types of posts into the blog.
The Kitchen Revival Recipe Rating System – I introduced this feature within the last couple of weeks on the blog. Starting with recipes from December 2015 and on, all recipes will be labeled at the top of each page with color coded labels so you can easily define if the recipe is Sugar Free, Paleo, Vegan, etc. The Recipe Rating System is a work in progress, so please be patient as I continue to develop this system.
Global Flavor Experience is back – In the middle of 2014, I introduced a new series on the blog called Tastetrotting Across the Globe where I share recipes from different countries. I truly enjoyed this series because I just loved trying out recipes from different countries. But for the past 6 months or so, the series has been absent from the blog. But, I am happy to report that this series will be coming back in 2016. Every month I will choose a different country to feature a few different recipes from a chosen country each month.
There will also be some other new things coming to the blog in 2o16 that are currently in the works, so stay tuned!
